Competition: Scottish League Two
Market: Stirling draw no bet
Odds: 10/11 @ 888sport
Two sides who find themselves battling it out at the top of the League Two table, Stirling will make the trip to a struggling Dumbarton on Tuesday night.
Starting with the hosts, while Dumbarton might still have their sights set on clinching an immediate third-tier return this season, it is no secret that Stephen Farrell’s men are in the midst of a rather public struggle. Last seen over the weekend putting in another nightmare display as they were hit with a 3-1 loss away at Annan, the Sons have the feel of a squad seeking a much-needed boost. Opening April with a 2-1 defeat at home against Stenhousemuir, the Whites have now claimed just a single point from any of their last five straight League Two appearances. With their extended rut highlighted by a woeful 5-1 defeat against Albion Rovers on March 18th, Farrell’s downbeat squad have also continued to show a string of defensive issues. Shipping 13 strikes on their five-match winless run, it should also be noted that Dumbarton have lost four of their previous five showdowns in front of their own supporters – a run that stems all the way back to February 11th.
As for the visitors, while Dumbarton might be at the heart of an extended struggle, the mood in Stirling’s camp should be at a real high. Although the Binos might have been disappointed after only collecting a 2-2 draw at home against East Fife over the weekend, Darren Young’s men are breezing their way towards a League One return this season. Opening up Tuesday’s showdown holding a commanding nine-point buffer at the top of the table, the Reds should be looking to make another statement here. Opening April with a thumping 3-0 romp away at Elgin, the runaway leaders are unbeaten in each of their last 15 straight appearances across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to December 3rd. Really finding a clinical edge in the final third and storming their way to a remarkable 6-0 victory when they welcomed Dumbarton to the Forthbank Stadium six months ago, we are backing an away draw no bet in midweek.
