Competition: National League

Odds: 7/10 @ Pribet
In what could prove to be an enjoyable National League showdown on Tuesday night, Eastleigh will welcome Oldham to the Silverlake Stadium.
Starting with the hosts, extending on their FA Trophy adventure last weekend as they secured a 4-1 romp away at Basford, Eastleigh will be looking to use that performance as a platform to build on. While Kelvin Davis’ side might find themselves battling it out in the top-half of the National League table, the Spitfires are seeking some recent stability. Last seen in fifth-tier action on New Year’s Day playing out a 1-1 stalemate at home against Barnet, the Hampshire-based outfit have only collected a single point from three of their previous four National League showdowns. Opening Tuesday’s contest sat five points adrift in the play-off chase, Eastleigh have also gained a reputation for their extended inconsistencies on home soil. Including a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Braintree on November 9th, Davis’ camp have recorded just a sole victory from any of their last eight consecutive appearances at the Silverlake Stadium – a run that stems back to a 4-2 win against Rochdale on September 21st.
As for the visitors, opening the New Year with a 2-1 loss away at Hartlepool, Oldham will be seeking an immediate response here. Watching their three-match winning run come to an abrupt end last week, the Latics are simply looking to widen their buffer in the play-off chase. With it no secret that Micky Mellon’s men have their sights set on securing a lucrative Football League return, the former Tranmere boss has seen his squad suffer just a single fifth-tier defeat over the past three months. With that run stemming all the way back to an action-packed 3-2 loss against Solihull Moors on October 5th, Tuesday’s guests have continued to show some extended issues away from Boundary Park. Watching their FA Cup adventure come to an end on November 30th as they were hit with a 2-1 loss against Leyton Orient, Oldham have recorded just a single victory from any of their last five away fixtures across all formats.
