Competition: Spanish Segunda

Market: Eibar win

Odds: 19/20 @ 888sport

Hoping to force their way into the play-off places on Sunday evening, Eibar will welcome Huesca to the Ipurua Municipal Stadium.

Starting with the hosts, eventually suffering last-gasp heartbreak away at Cartagena last weekend, there is no doubt that Eibar will be seeking an immediate response here. However, while Gaizka Garitano’s men might have seen their six-match unbeaten run come to an abrupt end last time out, Los Armeros are desperate to secure a La Liga return this season. Opening this weekend’s fixtures with just their goal difference keeping them outside the play-off places, the former Athletic Bilbao boss will be glad to make a return to home soil on Sunday evening. In fact, Eibar are remarkably yet to suffer a single Segunda defeat at the Ipurua Municipal Stadium since opening the 2022/23 campaign. Claiming a 3-1 win when they last faced off against Huesca back in July, Garitano’s men should be smelling an opportunity this weekend.

As for the visitors, while Huesca might have been last seen snatching a 0-0 stalemate at home against Gijon last weekend, that result does not cover what has been an extended blip. Having to settle for a disappointing bottom-half finish last season, it appears that Cuco Ziganda’s men are still someway off mounting any kind of promotion charge. Crashing out of the Copa del Rey on November 13th following a shock penalties defeat against lower-league Torremolinos, the Azulgranas have recorded just a single victory from any of their last five attempts. Likewise, bagging just a single strike from their previous four Segunda outings, Huesca will know that they face a real challenge this weekend. Suffering a deserved 3-1 loss when they welcomed Eibar to the El Alcoraz back in July, we’re predicting a similar outcome here.

Bet: Eibar 19/20 to beat Huesca in Sunday’s Segunda battle @ 888sport
