In what could prove to be an enjoyable Bundesliga showdown on Saturday afternoon, Eintracht Frankfurt will welcome Mainz to Deutsche Bank Park.

Starting with the hosts, while Eintracht Frankfurt might have come flying out of the traps when opening up the new campaign, Dino Toppmoller’s side have come crashing back down to earth over the past few weeks. Eventually falling to a 2-1 loss away at RB Leipzig last weekend, the Eagles do have the feel of a squad seeking a recent boost. Hit with an action-packed 3-2 defeat when they travelled to French outfit Lyon on December 12th, Frankfurt have failed to win any of their previous four appearances across all competitions. Crashing out of the DFP Pokal earlier in the month as they slumped to a 3-0 drumming at the Red Bull Arena, Saturday’s hosts have also shown some worrying defensive issues. Forced to settle for a 2-2 stalemate at home against Augsburg, the Eagles have conceded 10 goals on their four-match losing rut. It should also be noted, Toppmoller’s side have put just a pair of Bundesliga clean sheets on the board since back on September 21st.

As for the visitors, collecting what was a famous 2-1 victory against German giants Bayern Munich last weekend, Mainz have embarked on a sensational purple patch. Cementing their spot as one of the Bundesliga’s ultimate surprise packages this season, the Carnival Club open Saturday’s showdown sat just one-point adrift of breaking into the European spots. Heading into November’s international break with a 3-1 romp against Borussia Dortmund, Bo Henriksen’s side find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Despite falling to an action-packed 4-3 loss away at Wolfsburg earlier in the month, Mainz have collected 12 points from their previous five Bundesliga appearances. In fact, the Reds have suffered just a sole defeat from any of their previous eight top-flight showdowns – a run that stems all the way back to October 19th. Likewise, continuing on from last season, Henriksen’s men have lost just a sole Bundesliga matchup away from the MEWA Arena since the start of March.

Bet: Both teams to score at Eintracht Frankfurt vs Mainz 7/10 for Saturday’s Bundesliga battle @ 1xBet
