Competition: Primera Nacional

Market: Ferro win

Odds: 11/10 @ BetUS

Looking to extend on their Primera Nacional romp this weekend, a high-flying Ferro will welcome Atletico Rafaela to the Ricardo Etcheverry on Sunday night.

Starting with the hosts, continuing on what has been a major Primera Nacional purple patch this season, it is no secret that Ferro have a top-flight return at the top of their agenda in 2023. Last seen putting in another eye-catching performance as they clinched a lively 2-1 win away at CA Estudiantes, the Buenos Aires-based outfit find themselves sat in pole position to claim a play-off ticket this year. In fact, along with signing off June with a 1-0 victory at home against Brown Adrogue, Juan Sara’s men have collected 12 points from their previous five Primera Nacional appearances. With the mood in their camp at a red-hot high, Ferro have also suffered just a single loss from any of their last 12 second-tier matchups – a run that stems all the way back to April 8th. Picking up a 2-1 win when they faced-off against Sunday’s guests four months ago, Sara’s men are rightfully tipped as a standout contender here.

As for the visitors, although Atletico Rafaela might also be battling it out in the play-off chase, Ezequiel Medran’s men are in the midst of an extended wobble. Despite claiming a much-needed 1-0 win against Atletico Atlanta last month, it appears that might have just been a minor boost for La Crema. Last seen getting hit with a toothless 1-0 defeat at the hands of Deportivo Riestra, the former Central Norte boss has seen his struggling squad muster just one win from their previous six Primera Nacional appearances – a run that stems back to May 20th. Likewise, along with suffering that 2-1 loss when they welcomed Ferro to the Nuevo Monumental back on March 10th, it should be noted that La Crema hold a woeful record against the promotion contenders. Collecting just a single point from any of their last five meetings, we are expecting a similar home victory here.
