Competition: Serie A

Market: Fiorentina win

Odds: 6/5 @ Pribet

Looking to extend on their recent Serie A purple patch this weekend, Fiorentina will welcome Torino to the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Friday evening.

Starting with the hosts, continuing on what has been a major Serie A romp this season, Fiorentina have continued to receive a string of plaudits from across Italy. Last seen putting in another eye-catching display as they clinched a 1-0 victory away at Monza, the Purples now have their sights firmly set on mounting a genuine top-four charge in the New Year. Extending on their Europa Conference League adventure earlier in the month and punching their knockout stage ticket, Vincenzo Italiano’s side should find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Now unbeaten in all of their previous seven straight appearances across all formats, Fiorentina have also continued to shine with their extended success on home soil. Along with opening December with a 3-0 romp against Salernitana, Friday’s hosts have won all of their last five showdowns at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. Landing a 2-1 victory when they welcomed Torino to town on February 1st, Italiano’s men will be confident of making another Serie A statement this weekend.

As for the visitors, although Torino might still be fancying their chances to claim another top-half finish this season, the Bulls do have the feel of a squad seeking some recent stability. Left disappointed last week as they eventually had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate at home against Udinese, Ivan Juric’s side have won just a pair of their previous six Serie A appearances. Signing off November with a 2-0 loss at the hands of a high-flying Bologna, Torino have continued to show some extended issues on the road. Last seen away from the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino playing out an uninspiring 0-0 draw against Frosinone, Friday’s guests have recorded just a single away win from any of their last six attempts – a run that stems all the way back to September 18th. Likewise, suffering a 2-1 defeat when they last visited the Stadio Artemio Franchi back on February 1st, Juric’s inconsistent squad should be bracing themselves for another stern challenge here.
