Unbeaten in each of their last five top-flight contests, a run that also saw them snatch a 1-1 draw off of defending champions Inter Milan prior to March’s international break, it should also be highlighted that Fiorentina have lost just one of their previous five home fixtures, a run that stems back to February 5th.
As for the visitors, while Fiorentina might have their sights set on pinching a European finish this season, Venezia find themselves in their own battle at the other end of the table. Last seen getting hit with a disappointing 2-1 defeat at home against Udinese, Head Coach Paolo Zanetti finds growing pressure on his role. Making the trip to the Stadio Artemio Franchi this weekend still sat three points adrift of safety, the Winged Lions will know that they face a huge task here. Likewise, on a run of form that is highlighted by a 1-0 loss against Spezia when returning from March’s international break, it should be noted that Venezia have lost each of their last six Serie A matchups on the spin. Given the huge recent gulf between Saturday’s opponents, it is hard to see anything other than a routine home victory for the Purples.
