Looking to claim back-to-back League One victories on Saturday afternoon, Fleetwood will welcome Lincoln to Highbury for what could be a low-scoring affair.
Starting with the hosts, managing to make a stunning return to winning ways last weekend, Fleetwood will be desperate to make another League One statement here. Eventually claiming a 2-0 victory away at promotion contenders Derby, Scott Brown’s men also drew a line under their four-match winless run. Crashing out of the FA Cup on March 1st following a 1 -0 defeat at the hands of Championship high-flyers Burnley, the ex-Celtic skipper should be excited by his side’s continued success on home soil. In fact, on a run that is highlighted by a 1-0 victory against Sheffield Wednesday last month, Fleetwood have collected 13 points from their last five League One showdowns at Highbury. However, it should also be noted, Brown’s men have seen seven of their last eight appearances in Lancashire finish with under 2.5 goals.
As for the visitors, although Lincoln might have claimed a much-needed 1-0 victory at home against Oxford earlier in the month, it appears that might have just been a minor boost for the Imps. Last seen putting in another toothless display as they were hit with a routine 3-0 loss at home against Peterborough, Mark Kennedy’s side have claimed just one win from their last eight appearances. With their extended blip stemming all the way back to a 1-0 win against Bristol Rovers on February 11th, Lincoln have shown some continued struggles in the final third. It should be noted, Kennedy’s men have failed to score more than a single strike in any of their previous nine consecutive outings. Likewise, with Saturday’s guests seeing three of their last four away fixtures finish with under 2.5 goals, we are expecting a similar outcome here.
Bet: Under 2.5 goals at Fleetwood vs Lincoln 4/6 for Saturday’s League One battle @ 888sport
