Competition: Premier League
Market: Aston Villa draw no bet
Odds: 8/11 @ Pribet
Desperate to make a crucial return to winning ways on Saturday afternoon, Aston Villa will travel to Craven Cottage when they meet Fulham.
Starting with the hosts, while Fulham might have opened the New Year in the midst of an extended wobble, Marco Silva’s men certainly claimed an eye-catching boost last time out. Storming their way to a 3-1 romp against a high-flying Bournemouth, the Cottagers will know the importance of using that performance as a platform to build on. However, although the west London outfit might have drawn a line under their six-match winless run last week, the former Everton boss does have a mounting headache over his side’s recent issues at the back. Suffering EFL Cup semi-final heartbreak at the hands of Liverpool last month as they eventually slumped to a 3-2 aggregate defeat, Fulham have recorded just a single clean sheet against Premier League opposition since opening 2024. Likewise, hit with a 3-1 loss when they travelled to Villa Park for their reverse showdown against Saturday’s guests back on December 12th, Silva’s men should face a tough challenge here.
As for the visitors, although Aston Villa might have continued to receive a string of plaudits this season, Unai Emery’s men are seeking a recent boost. Suffering late heartbreak at the hands of Manchester United last week as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at home against Manchester United, the former Arsenal boss has seen his squad win just one of their previous six showdowns against Premier League opposition. Crashing out of the FA Cup earlier in the month following an action-packed 3-1 defeat against Chelsea, Villa know the importance of claiming an essential response here. Nevertheless, still with their sights set on securing a famous Champions League ticket in 2024, Emery’s men will be excited by a rampant record against Saturday’s hosts. Including that 3-1 victory when they welcomed Fulham to the Midlands on December 12th, Villa have won four of their previous five top-flight meetings. Given that eye-catching record, we are predicting an away draw no bet in west London.
