Bitesize Prediction: Genk vs West Ham – 4th November 2021

Competition: Europa League

Market: West Ham win

Odds: 10/11 @ 888sport

Looking to extend on what has been a stunning run of form, West Ham will make the trip to the Luminus Arena when they face off against Genk on Thursday evening.

Starting with the hosts, last seen over the weekend picking up what was a remarkable 6-2 win away at Waregem on domestic duties, Genk has suddenly found themselves enjoying a much-welcomed boost over the past week. However, while the Belgium outfit might have recorded a staggering 12 goals in their back-to-back victories across all formats, that doesn’t cover what has been an inconsistent run of form since opening October. Suffering five straight defeats last month and watching Head Coach John van den Brom come under real scrutiny, Genk have also managed to land just a single Europa League win on this year’s European adventure. Blown away at the London Stadium a fortnight ago as they were hit with a 3-0 drumming on foreign soil, Thursday’s hosts should be bracing themselves for a tough evening’s work.

As for the visitors, last seen over the weekend picking up some perfect momentum, the mood in West Ham’s camp is at a red-hot high. Only continuing to shock almost everyone across the Premier League once again this season, the Hammers find themselves firmly battling it out the in top-four hunt. Making the trip to the Midlands on Sunday afternoon as they stormed their way to a 4-1 win against Aston Villa, David Moyes’ men have now won each of their last five matchups across all formats. Likewise, winning eight of their previous nine matchups, a run that stems back to the middle of September, the former Manchester United boss has also seen his side extend on a European purple patch. Winning all three of their Europa League outings, including a 3-0 victory against Genk at the London Stadium last month, we’re backing a similar away win for West Ham here.
