Competition: Argentine Premier Division

Market: Both teams to score – No

Odds: 3/4 @ Pribet

In a showdown that could see chances come at a real premium, Gimnasia will welcome Huracan to the Estadio Juan Carmelo Zerillo in the early hours of Wednesday.

Starting with the hosts, while Gimnasia might have clinched an eye-catching top-nine finish last season, Sebastian Romero’s men have largely failed to match a similar level this time around. Last seen putting in another toothless display while on Copa Sudamericana duties on June 8th as they had to settle for a 0-0 stalemate away at Brazilian outfit Goias, El Lobo have picked up just a single win from any of their previous five appearances across all competitions. Likewise, opening June with a routine 2-0 defeat at the hands of Union Santa Fe, the La Plata-based outfit have also gained a recent reputation for their glaring issues in the final third. In fact, aside from a nervy 1-0 win against Santa Fe last month, Gimnasia have failed to find the net in any of their other four appearances. Notching just a single strike in over 450 minutes of action, Wednesday’s hosts have also failed to record more than a one goal in their previous seven showdowns at the Estadio Juan Carmelo Zerillo.

As for the visitors, although Huracan might have opened the 2023 campaign with a real flurry, Sebastian Battaglia’s side have come crashing back down to earth in some style. Putting in yet another downbeat performance last time out as they slumped to a 1-0 loss away at Danubio while on Copa Sudamericana duties, the Globo are now without a win from any of their last eight straight appearances across all competitions. Opening the midweek fixtures holding just a one-point buffer from slipping into the relegation zone, the Buenos Aires-based outfit have also shown their own respective issues in the final third. In fact, along with failing to muster a single strike from their last three consecutive outings, Battaglia’s side have also drawn a blank in six of their previous seven outings – a run that stems all the way back to May 2nd. In a showdown that famously produces a cagey affair, we are expecting that chances will come at a real premium in the early hours of Wednesday.

Bet: Both teams *not* to score at Gimnasia vs Huracan 3/4 for Wednesday’s Premier Division matchup @ Pribet
