Market: Both teams to score – No

Odds: 5/6 @ BetUS

Two sides who find themselves battling it out at the foot of the La Liga table, Granada will welcome Cadiz the Nuevo Los Carmenes on Wednesday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Granada might have eventually cruised their way to a La Liga return last season, Alexander Medina’s side find themselves at the heart of a major top-flight struggle. Opening the New Year battling it out in the drop zone and already 17 points adrift of safety, it is no secret that the Nasrids are tipped as a leading relegation contender this year. Last seen heading into Spain’s fortnight break with another nightmare display as they slumped to a routine 3-0 drumming at home against Sevilla, the Andalusia-based outfit have remarkably collected just eight points from any of their first 18 La Liga appearances this season. Likewise, along with opening December with a 2-0 loss against Real Madrid, Granada have continued to show some rather glaring issues in the final third. Along with failing to muster a single victory across any format since the end of August, Medina’s men have also scored just one goal in over 360 minutes of top-flight action.

As for the visitors, although Cadiz might have entered the festive break with a gritty 0-0 draw against Champions League outfit Real Sociedad, the Yellow Submarine find themselves in a similar position to Wednesday’s hosts. Failing to collect a single La Liga victory from their previous 14 straight outings – a run that stems all the way back to September 1st – Sergio Gonzalez’s side are at the heart of a relegation scrap. Opening the New Year holding just a two-point buffer from slipping into the drop zone, it appears there is some mounting pressure on the former Real Valladolid boss. Failing to notch more than a single strike in their last seven outings across all competitions, chances could come at a real premium in midweek. It should be highlighted, with Wednesday’s opponents playing out an uninspiring 0-0 stalemate when they last met 10 months ago, we are expecting what could be another cagey affair here.

Bet: Both teams *not* to score at Granada vs Cadiz 5/6 for Wednesday’s La Liga battle @ BetUS
