Bitesize Prediction: Hull City vs Burnley – 23/10/24

Competition: Championship

Market: Burnley draw no bet

Odds: 5/6 @ Pribet

Hoping to find a route back to the top of the Championship table, Burnley will travel to the MKM Stadium on Wednesday night when they meet Hull.

Starting with the hosts, while Hull might have opened October in the midst of a real flurry, the Tigers have continued to show some glaring inconstancies this season. Heading into the fortnight interval with a nightmare 4-0 drumming at the hands of Norwich, Tim Walter’s men struggled to find an immediate response last weekend. Eventually falling to a 1-0 defeat at home against Sunderland, the Yorkshire-based outfit have come tumbling out the top-half of the Championship table. Despite opening the new campaign with their sights firmly set on mounting another genuine play-off charge, Hull will be concerned by their glaring issues on home soil. Including a 2-0 loss against Sheffield United last month, Wednesday’s hosts have won just one of their first six showdowns at the MKM Stadium. Likewise, continuing on from last season, Walter’s side have recorded just a pair of victories in front of their own supporters since way back on February 3rd.

As for the visitors, while some might have been shocked over the summer as Scott Parker arrived at Turf Moor as Vincent Kompany’s successor, Burnley have continued to impress under the former Fulham boss. Looking to secure an immediate Premier League return this season, the Clarets are already pencilled in as a leading promotion contender. Marking their return from October’s international break with a rugged 2-0 victory away at Sheffield Wednesday, the midweek guests have suffered just a single defeat from any of their first 10 Championship appearances. Opening October with a 1-0 win against Plymouth, Burnley have also gained a reputation for their defensive steel. Along with recording four clean sheets on the bounce, Parker’s side have conceded just a sole Championship strike since the end of August. Hoping to find a route to the top of the table on Wednesday night, we are backing an away draw no bet here.
