Bitesize Prediction: Hull City vs Watford – 11/12/24

Competition: Championship

Market: Under 3.5 goals

Odds: 2/5 @ Pribet

In what could prove to be a cagey Championship showdown on Wednesday night, Hull and Watford will meet at the MKM Stadium.

Starting with the hosts, officially appointing new boss Ruben Selles last week, the former Reading manager has a real job on his hands. Last seen over the weekend putting in another downbeat display as they fell to a 1-0 loss at home against Blackburn, the Tigers find themselves at the heart of a public Championship crisis. While they might have opened up the new campaign with their sights set on mounting another shock play-off charge, Hull currently sit rock-bottom of the table and facing an almighty uphill battle. Coming under a huge amount of scrutiny this season, Wednesday’s hosts have put just 15 points on the board from any of their first 19 Championship appearances. Likewise, marking their return from November’s international break with another 1-0 defeat against Luton, Selles’ new squad have lost all of their last six consecutive outings. Facing what appears to be a real must-win showdown here, Hull have continued to show some glaring attacking struggles. In fact, the Tigers have recorded just a single goal since returning from November’s fortnight interval.

As for the visitors, although Watford might have been disappointed last time out as they eventually had to settle for a 0-0 stalemate at home against QPR, the Hornets have largely impressed on either side of November’s international break. Heading into the fortnight interval with a 1-0 victory against relegation scrappers Oxford United, Tom Cleverley’s men have their sights firmly set on pinching a play-off ticket this season. In fact, Watford have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous seven Championship appearances – a run that stems back to October 22nd. Hoping to skyrocket their way into the top-six and lay down a marker, Wednesday’s guests will be excited by their rugged success at the back. Recording three clean sheets from their last four outings, this is their brightest defensive run since the end of August. However, it should be noted, with Hull and Watford playing out a 0-0 stalemate when they last met back on April 20th, we could be set for another cagey affair here.

Bet: Under 3.5 goals at Hull City vs Watford 2/5 for Wednesday’s Championship matchup @ Pribet
