Bitesize Prediction: Hull vs Coventry – 15/09/23

Competition: Championship

Market: Hull double chance

Odds: 8/15 @ Pribet

Looking to extend on their bright start to the 2023/24 campaign, Hull will welcome Coventry to the MKM Stadium on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Hull might have spent large spells of last season looking over their shoulder at a looming relegation scrap, the Tigers have certainly come roaring back this time around. Really appearing to be enjoying life under Liam Rosenior, the Yorkshire-based outfit will be desperate to lay down another Championship marker here. Last seen heading into September’s international break with a remarkable performance as they landed a 1-0 victory away at leading promotion contenders Leicester, the mood around the MKM Stadium should be at a red-hot high. With their eye-catching purple patch underlined by a 2-1 win away at Blackburn last month, Hull are certainly riding a major wave of momentum. Mustering 10 points from their previous four Championship appearances, the Tigers have also found a real clinical edge in the final third. Along with hitting Sheffield Wednesday for four back on August 12th, it is worth highlighting that Rosenior’s side have notched eight strikes on their four-match unbeaten run.

As for the visitors, while Coventry might have shocked many last season as they reached the play-off final, it is fair to say that the Robins have struggled to match a similar level since opening the 2023/24 campaign. Last seen heading into September’s international break with an action-packed 3-3 stalemate at home against Watford, Mark Robins’ side have recorded just a single win from any of their first five Championship appearances. Likewise, crashing out of the EFL Cup on August 9th following a worrying 2-1 defeat at the hands of League Two outfit AFC Wimbledon, the Sky Blues should also be worried by a downbeat record against Friday’s hosts. Along with slumping to a 3-2 loss when they travelled to Yorkshire last season, Coventry have collected just a single point from their previous three Championship showdowns against the Tigers. Given the recent gulf in class, we are expecting a home double chance this weekend.

Bet: Hull double chance against Coventry 8/15 for Friday’s Championship showdown @ Pribet
