Hoping to try and find a route into the Final Series spots this weekend, Inter Miami will welcome Minnesota to Florida in the early hours of Sunday.
Starting with the hosts, marking their return from June’s international break with a flat display on the road, Inter Miami will be looking to make an immediate return to winning ways here. However, while Phil Neville’s men might have been hit with a 2-0 loss away at Atlanta last weekend, the one-time Manchester United defender has seen his side largely impress since opening the 2022 campaign. Knowing that victory in the early hours of Sunday could see them skyrocket into the Final Series spots, the Herons have lost just a pair of matchups since the start of May. Heading into the international break with a deserved 2-1 victory against Portland, Neville’s side have also continued to shine on home soil. It should be highlighted, Miami are unbeaten in their last seven contests in front of their own supporters, recording six victories.
As for the visitors, also marking their return from the international break with their own flat display, Minnesota find themselves in the midst of an extended struggle. Last seen getting hit with a 2-1 loss at the hands of New England, Head Coach Adrian Heath does find some growing pressure on his shoulders. Along with crashing out of the US Open Cup against USL outfit Union Omaha last month, the Loons have now lost each of their last three domestic matchups. In fact, with just a single victory to their name over the past six weeks, they have also shown some worrying issues on the road. Including a thumping 3-1 defeat against Seattle on May 15th, Heath’s downbeat squad have lost three of their previous four contests away from Allianz Field. Given Miami’s purple patch on home soil, we’re backing a victory for Neville’s men here.
