Competition: Ykkonen

Market: Gnistan win

Odds: 19/20 @ Pribet

Looking to make an immediate return to winning ways on Wednesday afternoon, Gnistan will travel to the Centralplan when they meet a struggling Jaro in midweek.

Starting with the hosts, crashing back down to earth last weekend as they slumped to a woeful 4-0 drumming at the hands of TPS Turku, Jaro certainly find themselves in the midst of what has become an extended Ykkonen struggle. Despite claiming a welcomed boost at home against KaPa earlier in the month, Stephen Ward’s men are firmly battling it out at the foot of the Ykkonen table. Struggling to find any stability since opening the 2023 campaign, it is no secret that the Reds are tipped as a leading relegation contender this season. Along with signing off June with a toothless 1-0 loss at home against SJK Akatemia, Ward’s struggling squad have recorded just a single win from any of their previous five Ykkonen appearances. Already sat eight points adrift of breaking into the top-half, it should also be noted that Jaro have recorded just a pair of wins from their last seven showdowns at the Centralplan – a run that stems all the way back to March 18th.

As for the visitors, despite watching their Ykkonen purple patch come to an abrupt end away at Ekenas last weekend, Gnistan should still find the mood in their camp at a real high. Leading the chase at the top of the table and with their sights firmly set on securing a top-flight return in 2023, Joonas Rantanen’s men should be smelling the chance to claim an immediate response here. Winning five of their previous six Ykkonen appearances and rightfully tipped as a standout pick on Wednesday afternoon, the Yellows have also lost just a single second-tier showdown so far this season. Looking to cash in on a Jaro squad who are enduring a rather public struggle, it should also be noted that when Gnistan made the trip to Jakobstad 13 months ago, Wednesday’s guests cruised their way to a routine 2-0 win. Two sides who find themselves battling it out at opposite ends of the Ykkonen, we are backing an away victory for the promotion contenders in midweek.

Bet: Gnistan 19/20 to beat Jaro in Wednesday’s Ykkonen matchup @ Pribet
