Largely managing to bounce back from their Super Cup defeat at the hands of Inter Milan, the Old Lady do appear to be enjoying life under returning boss Massimiliano Allegri. Keeping the mood in their camp at a high with a 2-0 win against Verona on Sunday, the Italian giants have lost just one of their last 13 matchups across all formats, a run that stems back to the end of November. With big-money January arrival Dušan Vlahović finding the net on his Juve debut over the weekend, it should be noted that Thursday’s hosts have continued to shine on home soil. In fact, including three straight wins, Allegri’s side have collected 19 points from just their last seven fixtures in Turin.

As for the visitors, putting in a woeful display over the weekend and hit with a 4-0 drumming against Sampdoria, Sassuolo will be more than aware that they face another stern test here. Slipping out the top-half of the Serie A table, Head Coach Alessio Dionisi finds his side in the midst of what has been an extended blip on either side of the New Year’s break.
