Competition: Serie A

Market: Ciro Immobile to score anytime

Odds: 1/1 @ 888sport

Looking to open up the 2022/23 Serie A campaign with a flurry on Sunday evening, Lazio will welcome Bologna to the Stadio Olimpico.

Starting with the hosts, while Lazio might have eventually fallen six points adrift of clinching a top-four finish last season, the Eagles did impress many across Italy. Appearing to enjoy life under one-time Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, the Biancocelesti will be hoping to lay down an early marker on Sunday evening. Losing just one of their final eight Serie A matchups last season, there is no doubt that fans around the Stadio Olimpico will be calling on Ciro Immobile to spearhead their charge here. Enjoying what was another stunning campaign, the Italian international bagged 27 top-tier strikes last season on route to claiming the Golden Boot. Likewise, finding the net as Lazio cruised their way to a 3-0 victory when Bologna visited on February 12th, the ex-Borussia Dortmund striker should be smelling an early chance this weekend.

As for the visitors, although Bologna might have managed to extend on their Coppa Italia adventure earlier in the week thanks to a 1-0 win at home against lower-league Cosenza, Siniša Mihajlović’s side face a huge step up in class here. Having to settle for another bottom-half finish last season, the Greyhounds did show a string of issues on the road. Winning just one of their final 10 Serie A appearances away from the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, Bologna should also be worried by that 3-0 drumming when they made the trip to Rome back in February. Likewise, with Sunday’s guests losing each of their last three visits to the Stadio Olimpico by an aggregate score of 7-1, we’re backing Sarri and his attacking talisman to open the new campaign with a statement on home soil.

Bet: Ciro Immobile 1/1 to score anytime against Bologna in Sunday’s Serie A showdown @ 888sport
