Competition: Ligue 1

Looking to extend on their recent Ligue 1 flurry, Toulouse will make the trip to a struggling Le Havre on Sunday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, while Le Havre might have opened the New Year in the midst of an eye-catching run, Luka Elsner’s men have come crashing back down to earth in a worrying fashion. Last seen putting in another toothless display as they slumped to a 1-0 loss at the hands of Champions League hopefuls Brest, the Dean Club have lost all of their previous five domestic appearances across all competitions. Likewise, without a win from any of their previous seven showdowns, the Normandy-based outfit should be bracing themselves for another stern examination here. Crashing out of the Coupe de France on February 7th following a 3-1 defeat away at Strasbourg, Le Havre suddenly find themselves tipped as a leading relegation contender in 2024. Losing all of their last four Ligue 1 appearances by an aggregate score of 7-1, it appears that the former Standard Liege boss has some mounting pressure on his shoulders at the Stade Oceane.
As for the visitors, while Toulouse might have watched their Europa League adventure come to an end at the hands of Portuguese giants Benfica last month, Les Violets are enjoying another domestic flurry. With their sights firmly set on punching a top-half finish among France’s elite this season, Carles Martinez Novell’s men have won all of their previous three domestic appearances on the bounce. Last seen putting in a stunning performance as they secured a 2-1 victory against Nice, Sunday’s guests have continued to pick up some heavyweight scalps. Including respective wins against Lille and Monaco over the past few weeks, there is no doubt that Toulouse should be relishing a trip to the Stade Oceane this week. Finding a recent clinical edge in the final third and notching seven goals on their three-match Ligue 1 winning run, Novell’s side have also largely impressed on their travels. Last seen on the road collecting a 2-1 victory against Monaco, the Violets have won four of their previous six showdowns away from the Stadium de Toulouse.
