Competition: Championship
Market: Leeds win
Odds: 4/11 @ Pribet
Hoping to find a route back into the automatic promotion places, Leeds will welcome Derby to Elland Road on Saturday lunchtime.
Starting with the hosts, putting in a toothless performance last weekend as they slumped to a 1-0 loss at the hands of Blackburn, Leeds will know the importance of claiming an immediate response here. Nevertheless, still collecting nine points from their previous four Championship appearances, Daniel Farke’s men are pencilled in as a leading promotion contender this season. Marking their return from November’s international break with a sensational 4-3 win against Swansea, there is no doubt that the Whites will be excited to make a return to home soil this weekend. Looking to reclaim their spot in the automatic promotion spots, the former Norwich boss has seen his squad gain a reputation for their success at Elland Road. Including a routine 3-0 victory against Luton last month, Leeds have won each of their previous six straight showdowns in Yorkshire. It should also be highlighted, Farke’s side have shipped just a single strike in front of their own supporters since the middle of September.
As for the visitors, while Derby might have enjoyed a bright start to proceedings back in August, Paul Warne’s side have largely come crashing back down to earth. Continuing to tumble down the Championship table, the Rams could be looking over their shoulder at a looming relegation scrap. Suffering a dramatic second-half collapse at home against Sheffield Wednesday last weekend as they slumped to a 2-1 loss at Pride Park, Saturday’s guests have recorded just a single victory from any of their last nine straight Championship appearances. With that extended wobble stemming all the way back to October 5th, Derby should be bracing themselves for another heavyweight challenge here. Signing off November with another 2-1 defeat against Swansea, Warne’s downbeat squad have also claimed just a single win on their travels so far this season. Two sides who are expected to be battling it out at opposite ends of the table, we are backing a home victory at Elland Road.
