Competition: Championship

Market: Leeds win

Odds: 4/9 @ BetUS

Hoping to extend their stay at the top of the Championship table on Wednesday night, Leeds will welcome Norwich to Elland Road.

Starting with the hosts, while Leeds might have suffered play-off heartbreak last season, the Lilywhites are pencilled in as the standout title contender in 2025. Getting the midweek fixtures underway leading the chase at the top of the Championship table, Daniel Faroe will be desperate to get one over on his former employers here. Last seen on Sunday afternoon putting in another dominant display as they stormed their way to a 3-0 romp against Sheffield Wednesday, the Yorkshire-based outfit are enjoying an extended flurry. Extending on their FA Cup adventure on January 11th as they clinched a 1-0 win against Harrogate, Leeds are unbeaten in all of their previous 10 appearances across all competitions. Signing off 2024 with another 1-0 victory against Derby, Wednesday’s hosts have continued to shine with their defensive steel. It should be highlighted, Farke’s side have recorded a clean sheet in five of their previous seven outings.

As for the visitors, although Norwich might have enjoyed a welcomed flurry on either side of opening the New Year, Johannes Hoff Thorup has seen his squad gain a reputation for their inconstancies. Watching their respective FA Cup adventure come to an end on January 11th as they slumped to a 4-0 loss at home against Premier League outfit Brighton, Wednesday’s guests have suffered back-to-back defeats across all competitions. Putting in another toothless display as they fell to a 2-0 defeat against Sheffield United last weekend, Norwich have also shown some extended issues away from Carrow Road. Including a 2-1 loss at the hands of Sunderland, Thorup’s side have landed just a single win from any of their last 10 consecutive matchups outside of Norfolk – a rut that stems all the way back to September 28th. It should also be noted, Norwich fell to a 4-0 drumming when they travelled to Yorkshire last season.
