Bitesize Prediction: Leeds vs Southampton – 02/04/22

Competition: Premier League

Market: Leeds draw no bet

Odds: 7/10 @ 888sport

In what could prove to be another enjoyable affair from Elland Road this weekend, Leeds will welcome Southampton to Yorkshire on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while fans around Elland Road might have been heartbroken after watching Marcelo Bielsa leave the club last month, the Whites do appear to be enjoying life under new boss Jesse Marsch. Last seen heading into the international break with a stunning comeback away at European contenders Wolves, the former RB Leipzig boss has been filled with praise for the Lilywhites. Eventually snatching a remarkable 3-2 win away at Molineux on March 18th, Leeds have really found form at a crucial time. Along with snatching that last-gasp winner against leading relegation scrappers Norwich three weeks ago, Saturday’s hosts have secured back-to-back Premier League victories for the first time this season. Although they might once again be without attacking talisman Patrick Bamford, Leeds should be smelling a chance here.

As for the visitors, although Southampton might have opened March in the midst of a purple patch, the Saints have largely come crashing back down to earth. Last seen limping out of the FA Cup thanks to a 4-1 defeat against Manchester City on home soil, Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side mark their return to action on Saturday afternoon seeking a much-needed boost. Eventually suffering a 2-1 loss against relegation scrappers Watford last time out on Premier League duties, the south coast outfit have now lost each of their last four matchups across all formats. With their recent issues highlighted by a dreadful 4-0 drumming away at Aston Villa on March 5th, Southampton had previously been showing some real issues at the back. Knowing they face a tough test at Elland Road here, a home draw no bet can be found at attractive odds.
