Bitesize Prediction: Leicester vs Leeds – 03/11/23

Competition: Championship

Market: Leicester win

Odds: 21/20 @ 1xBet

In what is a real showdown at the top of the Championship table on Friday night, Leicester will welcome Leeds to the King Power.

Starting with the hosts, while Leicester might have come under a huge amount of scrutiny last season as they suffered an infamous Premier League relegation, the Foxes have come roaring back in some style. Only continuing to shine since they appointed new boss Enzo Maresca over the summer, they find themselves cruising towards an immediate top-flight return. Breaking a string of Championship records since opening up the 2023/24 campaign, the former Manchester City coach has seen his high-flying squad collect 39 points from just their first 14 appearances. Already leading the chase at the top of the Championship standings and holding a remarkable 14-point buffer from slipping out of the automatic promotion places, Leicester will simply be looking to make another statement of intent here. Last seen over the weekend grabbing a late 2-1 victory against relegation scrappers QPR, Friday’s hosts have now won each of their previous six straight outings. Really gaining a reputation for their free-scoring performances in the final third, it should be highlighted that Leicester have already notched 29 strikes in their opening 14 Championship contests.

As for the visitors, managing to make an immediate return to winning ways over the weekend thanks to a thumping display at Elland Road, Leeds find themselves in an almost identical position to Friday’s hosts. Looking to secure their own immediate Premier League return this season, the Whites have certainly caught the eye since they appointed ex-Norwich boss Daniel Farke over the summer. Last seen breezing their way to a 4-1 romp against Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield, Leeds have now won four of their previous five Championship appearances and are tipped as a leading contender in the play-off chase. However, while they might be desperate to make up some ground in the automatic promotion spots this weekend, Farke could have some mounting concerns over his side’s recent inconstancies on the road. Last seen on their travels getting hit with a 2-0 defeat against Stoke, Leeds have registered just a single win from their previous four showdowns away from Elland Road. Suffering a 2-0 loss when they last travelled to the King Power 13 months ago, we are backing a home victory here.
