Competition: Pro League

Market: Leuven win

Odds: 11/10 @ BetUS

Simply looking to sign off the 2023/24 campaign with a flurry on home soil, Leuven will welcome Westerlo to the King Power on Saturday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Leuven might have signed off April with a routine 3-0 drumming at the hands of KV Mechelen, Oscar Garcia’s men have continued to shine since returning from March’s international break. Opening May with a stellar 3-1 romp at home against St. Liege, the one-time Brighton boss has seen his squad lose just one of their previous eight Pro League appearances. Mustering seven point from their last three top-flight showdowns, the Whites will certainly be smelling the chance to make a final weekend statement. Pencilled in as a standout contender here, Leuven will also be excited by their continued purple patch on home soil. Including a 2-1 win against Gent last month, Saturday’s hosts have won four of their previous five Pro League battles at the King Power – a run that stems back to March 2nd. Enjoying their brightest run of the campaign, Garcia’s side will be looking to make one final statement at the King Power.

As for the visitors, although Westerlo might have eventually kept hold of their Pro League status, Bart Goor’s side are certainly limping their way over the finishing line. Last seen putting in another downbeat performance as they suffered a routine 2-0 loss at home against KV Mechelen, De Kemphanen have failed to claim a single victory from any of their previous 12 consecutive appearances – a rut that stems all the way back to February 16th. Signing off April with an action-packed 3-2 defeat against Gent, the Yellows have also continued to show a string of glaring defensive issues. Including another 3-2 loss against KV Mechelen on April 13th, Westerlo have failed to claim a sole Pro League clean sheet since opening up the New Year. It should also be highlighted, Saturday’s guests have lost all of their last five straight matchups away from the Het Kuipje by an aggregate score of 12-5.
