Bitesize Prediction: Maccabi Haifa vs Juventus – 11/10/22

Competition: Champions League

Market: Juventus win

Odds: 8/11 @ 888sport

Looking to make an immediate return to winning ways as they turn their attention back to Champions League duties, Juventus will make the trip to Maccabi Haifa on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, suffering a deserved 3-1 loss when they made the trip to Turin last week, there is no doubt that Maccabi Haifa will face another real test on Tuesday night. Failing to pick up any kind of momentum over the weekend as they were hit with a sluggish 1-0 defeat away at Maccabi Bnei Raina, it appears there is some growing pressure on Barak Bakhar’s shoulders. While the Israeli heavyweights might have claimed another domestic crown last season, the Greens have largely come crashing back down to earth. Losing each of their opening three Champions League showdowns by an aggregate score of 8-2, Maccabi Haifa also look a landslide pick to lift Group H’s wooden spoon. Losing four of their last five matchups across all formats, Bakhar’s side have the feel of a side seeking a much-needed boost.

As for the visitors, although Juventus might have clinched that 3-1 victory when they welcomed Maccabi Haifa to Turin last week, the Old Lady put in their own downbeat display over the weekend. Eventually getting hit with a 2-0 loss away at AC Milan, Massimiliano Allegri has made it clear that his side must find some stability. Mustering just a single win from their opening three Champions league appearances, there is no doubt that the former Serie A champions face a must-win showdown here. However, including last weekend’s 2-0 loss at the San Siro, it should be noted that Juve have remarkably failed to win any of their previous nine matchups on the road. Nevertheless, although Allegri’s side have failed to find top gear since opening the 2022/23 campaign, we’re backing an away win on Tuesday night that can be found at generous odds.
