Competition: Prva Liga
Market: Maribor win
Odds: 4/5 @ 888sport
In what could be a lively affair from Slovenia’s Prva Liga on Tuesday evening, Maribor will welcome Bravo to the Ljudski vrt.
Starting with the hosts, while Maribor might find themselves some distance off defending their domestic crown this season, the Slovenian giants are enjoying a recent purple patch. Last seen earlier in the month when putting in another thumping display as they cruised their way to a 4-0 romp away at Tabor Sezana, Damir Krznar’s men have won each of their last three domestic contests on the spin. Likewise, putting in a stellar display on November 6th as they landed a 5-1 victory against Mura on home soil, the Purples have certainly found a recent clinical edge in the final third. In fact, including an action-packed 3-3 draw away at Celje last month, Maribor have now bagged 15 strikes in just their last four appearances. It should also be noted, Tuesday’s hosts have seen each of their previous three matchups at the Ljudski vrt finish with over 2.5 goals.
As for the visitors, last seen over the weekend playing out a 2-2 draw away at Mura in a friendly showdown, Bravo should be glad to turn their attention back to top-flight duties here. Although Dejan Grabić’s men might almost find themselves sat in Prva Liga limbo heading into December, the Yellows have lost just one of their previous six top-tier appearances – a run that stems back to October 1st. However, facing what should be a tough test when they travel to Maribor in midweek, it should be highlighted that Bravo have continued to show some extended issues on the road. Including a routine 2-0 loss away at Koper last month, Grabić’s side have won just one of their last eight Prva Liga matchups outside of Ljubljana. Suffering a 1-0 defeat when they last faced off against the defending champions on September 11th, we’re backing a similar home win here.
