Hoping to find a route to the top of the Championship table on Wednesday night, Leeds will travel to south London when they meet Millwall.
Starting with the hosts, while Millwall might have fallen away last season as they missed out on the chance to book a top-half finish, the Lions have continued to shine this time around. Putting in another rugged performance last weekend as they secured a 1-0 victory against promotion contenders Burnley, Neil Harris’ men should find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Skyrocketing their way up the Championship standings, they suddenly have their sights firmly set on mounting a genuine play-off charge this year. In fact, signing off October with a 1-0 win away at Swansea, Millwall have won each pop their previous three consecutive appearances. Winning all of their last three Championship showdowns by a 1-0 scoreline, Harris will be hugely excited by his side’s extended defensive steel. Snatching a 0-0 stalemate away at play-off rivals West Brom on October 5th, Wednesday’s hosts have conceded just a single goal in any of their last five straight appearances.
As for the visitors, while Leeds might have been disappointed as they signed off October with a 0-0 draw away at Bristol City, Daniel Farke’s men certainly laid down a real marker last weekend. Eventually cruising their way to a routine 3-0 romp at home against Plymouth, the former Norwich boss will be calling on a a repeat performance here. Making a heavyweight statement on October 18th as they collected a 2-0 win against Sheffield United, the Yorkshire-based outfit are looking to skyrocket their way to the top of the Championship table. Installed as a leading promotion contender this season, Wednesday’s guests are unbeaten in all of their previous eight consecutive appearances. It should also be highlighted, Leeds have conceded just a single Championship strike in over 360 minutes of action. Likewise, recording four clean sheets from their first six matchups away from Elland Road, chances could come at a premium here.
