Competition: MLS
Market: Minnesota win
Odds: 12/11 @ Pribet
Looking to make up some ground in the Western Conference title chase, Minnesota will welcome Dallas to Allianz Field in the early hours of Sunday.
Starting with the hosts, while Minnesota might have endured a real Western Conference nightmare last season, Eric Ramsay’s men have come roaring back this time around. Making a return to winning ways last weekend as they secured a routine 3-1 romp against Sporting Kansas City, the Loons will certainly be smelling another golden opportunity here. Battling it out at the top of the table and sat firmly in the driving seat to punch a play-off ticket this season, Minnesota have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous eight MLS appearances. Pencilled in as a standout contender here, Ramsay’s men will also be excited by their continued success at Allianz Field. Including a 2-1 victory against Portland on May 19th, Sunday’s hosts have recorded 10 points from their last four MLS showdowns in front of their own supporters. It should also be noted, the Loons have bagged nine goals in those four consecutive matchups on home soil.
As for the visitors, last seen putting in another downbeat performance as they slumped to a 1-0 loss away at Los Angeles, Dallas are in the midst of what has been a major MLS struggle. Scrapping it out at the foot of the Western Conference standings and opening this weekend’s fixtures sat seven points adrift of breaking into the play-off places, Nico Estevez’s men have collected just a single win from any of their previous six MLS appearances. Signing off May with a routine 3-1 drumming at the hands of LA Galaxy, the Burn have also shown some glaring issues away from the Toyota Stadium since opening up the 2024 campaign. Including another 3-1 loss against Toronto last month, Dallas have failed to register a single MLS victory on their travels so far this season. Given what has been a huge recent gulf in class, we are backing a home victory in the early hours of Sunday.
