Competition: MLS

Market: Minnesota win

Odds: 10/11 @ 888sport

Looking to extend on what has been an impressive run of form, Minnesota will welcome Houston to Allianz Field on Saturday night.

Starting with the hosts, last seen putting in another impressive display as they claimed a deserved 2-1 victory at home against Austin, Minnesota have continued to gain plenty of praise. Holding a commanding seven-point buffer from dropping out of the Final Series spots, Adrian Heath’s side have lost just one of their last 11 matchups across all formats, a run that stems all the way back to June 25th. With their purple patch highlighted by a stunning 4-0 romp against Premier League outfit Everton in a friendly contest last month, Minnesota will be desperate to lay down another marker on Saturday night. It should also be noted, only continuing to shine on home soil this season, the Saint Paul-based outfit are unbeaten in each of their previous six MLS showdowns in front of their own supporters.

As for the visitors, while Houston might have been last seen snatching a 1-1 draw away at Colorado, it does not cover what has been a dreadful run of form. Battling it out at the foot of the Western Conference table and eight points adrift of breaking into the Final Series spots, the Dynamo’s have also collected just a single point from any of their last five MLS matchups. With their dreadful spell underlined by a 6-0 drumming at the hands of Philadelphia on July 30th, Paulo Nagamura’s men will know that they face a real task on Saturday night. Likewise, managing to muster just a single domestic victory since way back on June 25th, Houston should also be worried by their continued struggles against Minnesota. Including a 2-1 loss against the Loons last month, they have lost each of their previous four showdowns.
