Competition: Spanish Segunda

Market: Mirandes win

Odds: 10/11 @ 888sport

Looking to extend on their recent Segunda flurry, Mirandes will welcome Lugo to the Estadio Municipal de Anduva on Sunday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Mirandes might have been disappointed after playing out a 0-0 stalemate away at Real Zaragoza last weekend, Joseba Etxeberria’s men are enjoying what has been a stellar unbeaten run. Skyrocketing themselves away from a potential relegation scrap, Los Rojillos should find the mood in their camp at a real high. In fact, along with enjoying a five-match Segunda unbeaten run, it should also be noted that the Burgos-based outfit have suffered just a single second-tier defeat from any of their last 11 showdowns. With that remarkable purple patch stemming all the way back to October 16th, Mirandes should be smelling a golden chance on Sunday afternoon. Likewise, it should also be highlighted, Etxeberria’s side have won each of their last four straight Segunda battles at the Estadio Municipal de Anduva by an aggregate score of 9-4. With that run highlighted by a stellar 4-2 victory against Albacete at the start of December, Los Rojillos will be seeking a repeat display here.

As for the visitors, while Lugo might have clung to their Segunda status last season, it appears that Fran Justo’s side are facing a real uphill struggle in 2023. Although the Albivermellos might have claimed a much-needed 1-0 victory against Granada on December 17th, it appears that might have just been a minor boost for the ex-Arenteiro boss. Last seen on Segunda duties getting hit with a 1-0 loss away at Leganes, the Galicia-based outfit have now lost three of their last four second-tier battles. Scrapping it out in the drop zone and now sitting three points adrift of safety, Lugo have also continued on a nightmare run away from the Anxo Carro. In fact, Sunday’s guests have won just a single Segunda matchup on the road from their previous nine attempts – a run that stems all the way back to September 4th. Winning just one of their last four meetings against a high-flying Mirandes, we’re backing a home victory this weekend.

Bet: Mirandes 10/11 to beat Lugo in Sunday’s Segunda showdown @ 888sport
