Eventually grabbing a 2-0 victory away at Marilia a few days ago, Ricardo Catala’s men have now won each of their previous four straight appearances across all formats. Likewise, last seen in Serie B action grabbing a 1-0 win away at Chapecoense, the Sao Paulo-based outfit now have their sights firmly set on clinching a top-four finish in 2023. Opening the midweek fixtures sat just a single point adrift of breaking into the promotion places, the Yellows certainly find the mood in their camp at a real high. Unbeaten in each of their last nine contests – a run that stems back to July 3rd – Mirassol have also gained a reputation for their continued success at the back. It should be highlighted, Tuesday’s hosts have kept a clean sheet in each of their last four consecutive victories.
As for the visitors, crashing back down to earth last weekend thanks to a downbeat 2-1 loss at home against Guarani, Avai find themselves at the heart of a bottom-four scrap in 2023. Sat in the drop zone and tipped as a leading contender to be hit with back-to-back relegations, Alex’s men have come under a huge amount of scrutiny since losing their top-flight status last season. Mustering just a pair of wins from any of their last 14 straight appearances across all competitions – a run that stems back to May 6th – the Santa Catarina-based outfit will know that they face a stern challenge on Tuesday night. Likewise, mustering just one win from any of their last seven showdowns away from the Ressacada, Avai are desperate to try and find some Serie B stability.
