Competition: Brazil Serie B
Market: Mirassol win
Odds: 8/11 @ BetUS
Two sides who are seeking some recent stability, Mirassol will welcome CRB to Sao Paulo in the early hours of Wednesday.
Starting with the hosts, while Mirassol might have put in a gritty performance away at Novorizontino last week as they snatched a 1-1 draw, the Yellows are seeking a recent boost. Signing off June with an uneventful 0-0 stalemate against Santos, Mozart’s men have failed to win any of their previous four Serie B appearances. Desperate to make up some ground in the top-four chase here, the former Guarani boss has also seen his squad bag just a single strike during their four-match winless rut. However, pencilled in as a standout contender in the early hours of Wednesday, the Sao Paulo-based outfit will certainly be excited to make a return to home soil in midweek. Including a 1-0 victory against Goias on June 11th, Mirassol have collected 16 points from their first six Serie B showdowns at the Jose Maria de Campos Maia. It should also be highlighted, Mozart’s side have not conceded a single strike in front of their own supporters since way back on May 12th.
As for the visitors, suffering last-gasp heartbreak at home against Brusque as they eventually had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate, CRB are also seeking some recent stability. Despite signing off June with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at home against Guarani, that is the only win that Daniel Paulista’s camp have registered from their previous five Serie B appearances. Battling it out in the drop zone, the former Sport Recife boss will also have a headache over his side’s struggles outside of Alagoas. Crashing out of the Copa do Nordeste on June 6th following a 2-0 loss at the hands of Fortaleza, CRB have also collected just a single point from any of their previous three second-tier showdowns away from the Rei Pele. It should also be highlighted, continuing on from last season, Wednesday’s guests have failed to muster a sole Serie B victory on their travels since way back on September 3rd. Likewise, falling to a 1-0 defeat when they travelled to the Jose Maria de Campos Maia last season, we are expecting a similar outcome here.
