Hoping to try and find a route into the Champions League places this weekend, Monaco will welcome Angers to the Stade Louis II on Sunday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, last seen putting in another stellar display as they stormed their way to a 4-1 win away at relegation scrappers St. Etienne, Monaco should find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. With their sights firmly set on clinching a Champions League return this season, Head Coach Philippe Clement has seen his side continue to gain a host of plaudits from across France. In fact, the Monégasques have won each of their previous six Ligue 1 contests on the spin, a run that stems all the way back to March 17th. With their remarkable domestic purple patch highlighted by a shock 3-0 romp against PSG prior to March’s international break, Monaco have also continued to shine in the final third. With attacking MVP Wissam Ben Yedder already racking up 20 Ligue 1 strikes this season, Clement’s men will be looking to lay down another marker here.
As for the visitors, while Angers might have been last seen playing out an action-packed 2-2 draw against Clermont on the road, Les Scoïstes are still firmly looking over their shoulder at the drop zone. Losing each of their last four meetings against Monaco, it is hard to see anything other than a home victory here.
