Competition: Ligue 1

Market: Monaco win

Odds: 8/11 @ Pribet

Hoping to make an immediate return to winning ways on Sunday afternoon, Monaco will welcome Brest to the Stade Louis II.

Starting with the hosts, putting in what was a toothless performance last weekend as they eventually had to settle for a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Lille, Monaco will certainly be seeking an immediate response here. Nevertheless, while the French giants might have seen their three-match winning run come to an abrupt end last time out, Adi Hutter’s side have their sights set on securing a lucrative Champions League return this time around. Marking their return from October’s international break with a 2-1 victory against Metz, the former Eintracht Frankfurt boss has seen his side gain a reputation for their continued success at the Stade Louis II. Along with signing off September with an action-packed 3-2 win against Marseille, Monaco have won four of their previous five domestic showdowns in front of their own supporters. With that hometown romp underlined by a 3-0 victory against Lens at the start of September, Hutter’s side should be smelling a golden chance on Sunday afternoon.

As for the visitors, while Brest might have shocked many across Ligue 1 when opening up the 2023/24 campaign, the Pirates currently have the feel of a squad seeking a much-needed boost. Last seen eventually getting hit with an action-packed 3-2 loss at home against defending champions PSG, Eric Roy’s side are without a win from any of their previous four top-flight appearances on either side of October’s international break. Although the Reds might still find themselves shockingly battling it out in the top-six chase, the one-time Nice boss has also seen his squad claim just a single win from their last four showdowns on the road. Facing what looks set to be a real challenge at the Stade Louis II on Sunday afternoon, Brest should be concerned by their nightmare record against Monaco. Along with a 2-1 loss when the two sides last met back on February 19th, Brest have lost their previous three meetings by an aggregate score of 7-3.

Bet: Monaco 8/11 to beat Brest in Sunday’s Ligue 1 showdown @ Pribet
