Competition: Copa Libertadores

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 4/11 @ BetUS

In what could prove to be a thrilling Copa Libertadores showdown late on Wednesday night, Nacional will welcome Internacional to the Gran Parque Central for a Group B battle.

Starting with the hosts, while Nacional might still have their sights firmly set on finding a route out of Group B this year, the Tricolors do have the feel of a squad seeking some recent stability. Failing to pick up much momentum over the weekend as they had to settle for a 1-1 draw away at Cerro CA, Alvaro Gutierrez’s men have picked up just a single win from ant of their last five appearances across all competitions. Largely failing to build on their April purple patch, the former Olimpia boss will have a growing headache over his side’s extended issues at the back. On a run that is highlighted by an action-packed 2-2 draw against Defensor Sporting on May 5th, Nacional have shipped at least a pair of goals in four of their previous five contests. Likewise, it should also be noted, Gutierrez’s side have seen each of their last five showdowns at the Gran Parque Central finish with over 2.5 goals.

As for the visitors, although Internacional might have been disappointed after settling for a 1-1 draw away at Santos over the weekend, the Brazilian giants are enjoying what has been an eye-catching flurry over the past few weeks. Mustering eight points from their four Group B appearances this year and seen as a standout pick to extend on their Copa Libertadores adventure, Mano Menezes’ side are unbeaten in each of their previous four appearances across all formats. Likewise, mounting a stellar Copa do Brasil comeback against America MG last week, the former Al Nassr boss will be calling on his side to make another Group B statement in midweek. Finding a clinical edge in the final third, Internacional have notched seven strikes on their four-match unbeaten run. With Wednesday’s opponents playing out a thrilling 2-2 stalemate when they met for their reverse showdown at the Beira-Rio on May 3rd, neutrals could be treated to another enjoyable affair here.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Nacional vs Internacional 4/11 for Wednesday’s Copa Libertadores showdown @ BetUS
