Competition: Serie A
Market: Victor Osimhen to score anytime
Odds: 17/20 @ Pribet
Desperate to secure consecutive Serie A victories this weekend, Napoli will welcome Frosinone to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday lunchtime.
Starting with the hosts, managing to claim what was an action-packed 4-2 victory away at Monza last weekend, Napoli must use that performance as a platform to build on. However, while the Italian giants might have made real history last season as they got their hands on a first domestic crown since 1990, the Azzurri have come tumbling back down to earth this time around. Watching their Champions League adventure last month following a 4-2 aggregate defeat against Spanish heavyweights Barcelona, Francesco Calzona’s men have collected just a single victory from any of their previous five appearances across all competitions. However, despite their extended issues this season, attacking talisman Victor Osimhen has continued on another free-scoring flurry. Once again finding the net away at Monza last weekend, the Nigerian icon has bagged six goals in his last eight outings. Heavily linked with a blockbuster move away from Naples this summer, the 25-year-old should be smelling the chance to extend on his clinical patch here.
As for the visitors, while Frosinone might have secured a Serie A return this season, the Canaries have a real battle to keep hold of their top-flight status. Despite being last seen snatching a point at home against Champions League chasers Bologna, Eusebio Di Francesco’s men have continued on an extended rut since opening the New Year. Heading into March’s international break with an action-packed 3-2 defeat at home against Lazio, Sunday’s guests have failed to muster a single victory from any of their previous 10 top-flight appearances. Likewise, crashing out of the Coppa Italia on November 11th following a routine 4-0 drumming against Juventus, Frosinone have also failed to muster a single top-flight victory on their travels so far this season. Likewise, it should also be noted that Francesco’s men have not registered a clean sheet away from the Stadio Benito Stirpe since way back on September 2nd.
