Bitesize Prediction: Narva vs Pyunik – 20/07/23

Competition: Europa Conference League qualifying

Market: Pyunik win to nil

Odds: 1/1 @ BetUS

Simply looking to finish off the job and extend on their Conference League qualifying adventure on Thursday afternoon, Pyunik will travel to Estonia when they meet Narva for their second-leg showdown.

Starting with the hosts, putting in a downbeat first-leg performance out in Armenia last week as they slumped to a routine 2-0 loss, Narva will be seeking a qualifying miracle on Thursday afternoon. Facing a major uphill struggle when they return to home soil here, Sergei Terehhov’s men are enduring what has become an extended struggle. Showing a string of issues since returning from June’s international break, the Reds have now lost each of their last four straight appearances across all competitions. With their nightmare rut highlighted by a 4-0 drumming at home against Parnu earlier in the month, Narva have certainly come crashing back down to earth over the past month. Losing each of those four consecutive outings by an aggregate score of 12-0, Terehhov’s side have also gained a reputation for their continued struggles on home soil. In fact, Thursday’s hosts have lost five of their previous six showdowns in front of their own supporters – a run that stems back to May 2nd.

As for the visitors, more than deserving of that first-leg 2-0 victory last weekend, Pyunik will simply be looking to finish off the job here. Continuing to shine on either side of June’s international break, Yegishe Melikyan’s men have now won each of their last three appearances across all formats by an aggregate score of 11-2. Likewise, remarkably suffering just a single defeat from any of their previous 13 straight outings – a run that stems all the way back to April 5th – the Armenian heavyweights should find the mood in their camp at a real high. Opening July with a stunning performance as they clinched a 7-1 romp away at Samgurali, the former Lviv boss has also seen his squad continue to impress on the road. Mustering 19 points from just their previous seven appearances, the Academy are rightfully seen as a standout pick here. Landing that 2-0 victory in Kentron last week, we are expecting a similar outcome on Thursday.

Bet: Pyunik 1/1 to beat Narva to nil in Thursday’s Europa Conference League qualifying showdown @ BetUS
