Competition: MLS
Market: Nashville win
Odds: 7/10 @ 888sport
Two sides who find themselves battling it out at opposite ends of the Western Conference table, Nashville will welcome Sporting KC to Geodis Park late on Sunday night.
Starting with the hosts, while Nashville might have been disappointed to have had to settle for a single point against San Jose last weekend, that shouldn’t dampen the mood in their camp. Continuing to impress many across the MLS this season, the Yellows are in the midst of an extended five-match unbeaten run. Likewise, suffering just a single defeat from any of their previous nine matchups across all formats, a run that stems all the way back to April 23rd, Head Coach Gary Smith has been filled with praise for his side’s recent purple patch. Signing off May with back-to-back 3-1 and 2-1 victories against Louisville and Colorado, Nashville will be looking to lay down another marker late on Sunday night. It should also be noted, Smith’s men have lost just a single fixture in front of their own supporters since opening the 2022 campaign.
As for the visitors, while Sporting KC might have managed to find somewhat of a boost during the middle of May, the Western Conference strugglers have come crashing back down to earth. Marking their own return from the international break last weekend with a 2-1 defeat at home against New England, Peter Vermes’ men have collected just a single victory in their last four domestic matchups. Opening Sunday’s showdown sat rock-bottom of the table, the Wizards have also gained a reputation for their rather glaring issues on the road. On a run that is highlighted by an abysmal 7-2 drumming at the hands of Portland last month, Sporting have failed to win any a single contest on their travels since way back in October. Watching Nashville pick up a 2-1 victory when the two sides last faced off on April 9th, we’re backing a similar outcome here.
