Looking to make an immediate return to winning ways on Wednesday night, Nice will welcome Lens to the Allianz Riviera.

Starting with the hosts, while Nice might still find themselves scrapping it out at the top of the Ligue 1 table, the Eaglets are certainly seeking an immediate response here. Missing out on what they had billed as a potential opportunity over the weekend as they eventually slumped to a shock 3-1 drumming at the hands of Le Havre, Francesco Farioli’s men have now recorded just a pair of wins from their last five top-flight showdowns. However, tipped as a runaway contender to book a famous Champions League ticket in the New Year, Nice will be excited to make a return to home soil here. Last seen at the Allianz Riviera claiming a lively 2-1 victory against Reims, Farioli’s side have gained a reputation for their continued success in front of their own supporters. Including an eye-catching 2-0 win against Rennes prior to November’s international break, Wednesday’s hosts have won all of their previous four home fixtures by an aggregate score of 6-1.

As for the visitors, while Lens might have opened the 2023/24 campaign in the midst of a public struggle, Le Racing have come roaring back since opening December. Last seen over the weekend putting in another dominant display as they secured a 2-0 victory at home against Reims, Frank Haise’s men have now collected 10 points from their previous four appearances across all competitions. Opening December with an action-packed 3-2 win against Lyon, the midweek guests have also lost just one of their last seven outings. Signing off their Champions League group stage adventure with a 2-1 victory against Spanish outfit Sevilla, Lens will be desperate to spring a domestic upset here. However, showing some extended struggles on the road and signing off November with a woeful 6-0 drumming at the hands of Premier League heavyweights Arsenal, Haise’s side have just a single away win to their name since the end of September.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Nice vs Lens 2/5 for Wednesday’s Ligue 1 showdown @ Pribet
