Competition: Championship
Market: Norwich win
Odds: 8/15 @ BetUS
Desperate to shore up their spot in the play-off battle, Norwich will welcome Plymouth to Carrow Road on Friday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, heading into March’s international break with another thumping performance as they stormed their way to a 3-0 romp away at Stoke, Norwich will simply be looking to carry on from where they left off prior to the fortnight interval. Skyrocketing their way up the Championship standings and with the mood around Carrow Road at a red-hot high, David Wagner’s men will certainly be looking to make another statement here. Sat in the driving seat to punch a play-off ticket this season, the Canaries have lost just one of their previous nine appearances – a run that stems back to a 5-2 FA Cup defeat at the hands of Premier League giants Liverpool on January 28th. Tipped as a standout contender on Friday afternoon, the former Huddersfield boss will also be hugely excited by his side’s remarkable success in front of their own supporters. Last seen at Carrow Road collecting a 5-0 victory against Rotherham, Norwich have won all of their previous six battles in Norfolk by an aggregate score of 18-4.
As for the visitors, although Plymouth might mark their return from March’s international break sat outside the drop zone, Ian Foster’s men are in the midst of a recent rut. Heading into the fortnight interval with a toothless 1-0 loss at home against Preston, the Pilgrims have collected just a single point from any of their previous four Championship appearances. Likewise, the Devon-based outfit have recorded just a sole victory from any of their last 10 outings across all competitions – a run that stems back to February 3rd. Suffering a 1-0 defeat against fellow relegation scrappers Sheffield Wednesday earlier in the month, Plymouth have also shown some extended struggles in the final third. In fact, Friday’s guests have recorded just a single goal in over 400 minutes of action. Recording just a pair of wins away from Home Park so far this season, Foster’s side should be bracing themselves for a stern challenge when they travel to Norfolk this weekend.
