Bitesize Prediction: Norwich vs Huddersfield – 23/12/23

Competition: Championship

Market: Norwich win

Odds: 4/6 @ Pribet

Desperate to make up some ground in the top-six chase on Saturday afternoon, Norwich will welcome Huddersfield to Carrow Road this weekend.

Starting with the hosts, while Norwich might have continued to show some extended inconsistencies since opening up the 2023/24 campaign, David Wagner’s men do appear to have turned a recent corner. Snatching a 2-2 stalemate away at bitter local rivals and title contenders Ipswich last weekend, the ex-Huddersfield boss will be looking to get one over on his former employers here. Opening December with a 2-1 victory away at Bristol City, the Canneries should be smelling the chance to make another crucial statement on Saturday afternoon. Still with their sights set on punching a play-off ticket in the New Year, Norwich have suffered just a single loss in any of their previous seven outings. With that run stemming all the way back to a 3-1 loss against Blackburn on November 5th, the Yellows will also be excited by their recent success on home soil. Including a 3-1 victory against Sheffield Wednesday on December 13th, Norwich have collected seven points from their previous three showdowns at Carrow Road.

As for the visitors, while Huddersfield might have managed to snatch another point last weekend as they played out a 1-1 stalemate against Millwall, the Terriers find themselves at the heart of a relegation scrap. Struggling to find any kind of stability since appointing Darren Moore back in September, the Yorkshire-based outfit currently hold just a two-point buffer from slipping into the drop zone. Although the former Sheffield Wednesday boss might have seen his squad snatch a shock 2-1 win away at Sunderland last month, Huddersfield are unbeaten in each of their other nine appearances. With that extended rut stemming all the way back to October 21st, Saturday’s guests have also shown some continued issues away from the John Smith’s Stadium. Including a 4-1 drumming at the hands of promotion contenders Leeds back on October 28th, Moore’s side have just a single Championship away victory to their name since the start of September. Hit with a 4-0 drumming when they last met Norwich back on August 26th, we are predicting a home win at Carrow Road.
