Two sides who will be looking to break into the play-off places this weekend, Norwich will welcome Hull to Carrow Road on Saturday lunchtime.
Starting with the hosts, while Norwich might have struggled to find much stability when opening up the new campaign, the Canaries have certainly turned a recent corner. Looking to wrap up another play-off ticket this season, Johannes Hoff Thorup’s men have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous seven Championship appearances. Likewise, despite eventually settling for a 1-1 stalemate at home against Leeds earlier in the week, the Norfolk-based outfit have registered seven points from just their previous three second-tier showdowns. Making an early statement last last month as they stormed their way to a 4-1 romp against Watford, Norwich will now be looking to claim some crucial defensive resolve. In fact, Thorup’s side have recorded just a single clean sheet from any of their first 10 appearances across all competitions. It should also be highlighted, Norwich have seen all of their first five showdowns at Carrow Road finish with both teams finding the net.
As for the visitors, although Hull might have endured a real nightmare when getting proceedings underway back in August, the Tigers have come roaring back in some style over the past fortnight. Last seen earlier in the week putting in another dominant display as they clinched a 3-1 victory away at QPR, Tim Walter’s men have started to skyrocket their way up the Championship standings. Firing themselves into the top-half of the table and now sat within touching distance of breaking into the play-off places, Saturday’s guests have won all of their previous three consecutive appearances. Signing off September with a 4-1 romp at home against Cardiff, Hull have also found a major clinical edge in the final third. Including another 3-1 win against Stoke last month, Walter’s side have recorded 10 goals on their three-match winning run. However, it should be noted, much like Saturday’s opponents, the Tigers have notched just a sole clean sheet since opening up the new campaign.
