Bitesize Prediction: Norwich vs Sunderland – 12/03/23

Competition: Championship

Market: Norwich win

Odds: 19/20 @ 888sport

Hoping to extend their stay in the play-off places this weekend, Norwich will welcome Sunderland to Carrow Road on Sunday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Norwich might have opened 2023 in the midst of an extended nightmare, David Wagner’s men have come roading back in some style. Last seen putting in another thrilling display as they claimed an action-packed 3-2 victory away at Millwall, the former Huddersfield boss should find the mood around Carrow Road at a real high. Finding a route into the play-off places and with their sights set on booking an immediate Premier League return this year, the Canaries have now collected 13 points from their last five Championship outings. Likewise, along with winning each of their last three second-tier contests by an aggregate score of 8-3, Norwich should be smelling the chance to lay down another marker here. It should also be noted, Wagner’s side have recorded three straight victories at Carrow Road.

As for the visitors, although Sunderland might have opened 2023 dreaming of the chance to book a famous play-off spot, Tony Mowbray’s men have come crashing back down to earth. Lasy seen putting in a woeful display as they were hit with a shock 5-1 drumming at home against Stoke, the former Blackburn boss has seen his side lose each of their last three Championship contests. Likewise, putting just a single point on the board since Valentine’s Day, the Black Cats have shown some extended issues at the back. Including a 2-1 loss at the hands of relegation scrappers Rotherham, it should be noted that Sunderland have shipped nine strikes on their three-match losing run. Hit with a 1-0 defeat when they welcomed Norwich to the Stadium of Light back on August 27th, we’re backing a similar outcome on Sunday afternoon.

Bet: Norwich 19/20 to beat Sunderland in Sunday’s Championship battle @ 888sport
