In what already looks set to be a real Premier League six-pointer on Saturday evening, Nottingham Forest will welcome Everton to the City Ground.
Starting with the hosts, while Nottingham Forest might have opened November with an eye-catching 2-0 victory against Champions League dreamers Aston Villa, Steve Cooper’s side have come crashing back down to earth in a worrying fashion. Last seen suffering a collapse on home soil as they were eventually hit with a 3-2 loss at the hands of Brighton, it appears there is some mounting pressure on the former Swansea boss. With Heading into November’s international break with another 3-2 defeat against West Ham, Cooper’s men have secured just a single victory from any of their previous nine straight appearances – a run that stems all the way back to September 2nd. Gaining a reputation for their rather glaring defensive issues ad shipping six goals in their back-to-back Premier League defeats, Forest will be more than aware that they face a must-win showdown here. It should also be highlighted, Saturday’s hosts have seen four of their last five contests at the City Ground finish with both teams finding the net.
As for the visitors, hit with an infamous 10-point deduction earlier in the month and now suddenly at the heart of another Premier League relegation scrap, Everton find themselves at the heart of a major storm. While Sean Dyche’s side might have entered November’s international break enjoying an eye-catching flurry, the former Burnley boss saw his squad come crashing back down to earth last weekend. Eventually blown away at Goodison Park as they slumped to a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Manchester United, Everton will know the importance of claiming an immediate response in Nottingham. Currently sat five points adrift of safety and facing what could be a real uphill challenge, the Toffees certainly have plenty of pressure on their shoulders here. It should be noted, with the two sides playing out a thrilling 2-2 stalemate when they last met at the City Ground back on March 5th, we are expecting chances to come thick and fast this weekend.
