Two sides who find themselves battling it out at opposite ends of the La Liga table, Osasuna will host Getafe on Sunday lunchtime.
Starting with the hosts, last seen putting in another gritty display as they picked up a 1-0 victory away at Almeria, Osasuna have only continued to gain a string of plaudits from across La Liga this season. With their sights set on clinching back-to-back top-half finishes this year, Los Rojillos open this weekend’s fixtures battling it out in the top-four chase. Opening the 2022/23 campaign with a shock 2-1 victory at home against Sevilla on August 12th, Jagoba Arrasate’s men have collected 12 points from their first five top-flight showdowns. With attacking talisman Chimy Avila already racking up three La Liga strikes, Osasuna should also be boosted by their rather rampant record on home soil. It should be noted, continuing on from their summer preparations, the Navarre-based outfit have won each of their last five straight matchups at the El Sadar.
As for the visitors, managing to pick up what was a much-needed 2-1 victory at home against Real Sociedad last weekend, Getafe will be desperate to build off of that success here. However, once again battling it out at the foot of the La Liga table, it is no secret that the Azulones have been tipped as a leading relegation pick this time around. With their downbeat start to the 2022/23 campaign highlighted by a 5-1 drumming away at Valencia on September 4th, the Blues will know that they face a tough test on Sunday lunchtime. It should also be noted, coming under scrutiny for a 3-1 loss away at Girona last month, Getafe have continued to gain a reputation for their issues on the road. It should be noted, continuing on from last season, the Madrid-based side have recorded just a single away victory since November 2021.
