Competition: Serie B

Market: Pisa win

Odds: 8/11 @ BetUS

Hoping to widen their buffer in the automatic promotion spots, Pisa will welcome local rivals Carrarese to the Arena Garibaldi on Monday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Pisa might have endured a real Serie B struggle last season as they limped their way to a bottom-half finish, the Nerazzurri are enjoying a sensational run of form this time around. Signing off 2024 with an eye-catching 1-0 victory away at Sampdoria, the mood around Tuscany appears to be at a red-hot high. Making a statement last month as they cruised their way to a 3-1 romp against Sassuolo, Filippo Inzaghi’s men have their sights firmly set on booking a famous Serie A return. Battling it out in the automatic promotion spots, the former AC Milan boss has seen his squad gain a string of plaudits. In fact, Pisa have registered 12 points from just their previous five Serie B appearances. Simply looking to open the New Year with another dominant display, Monday’s hosts will also be excited by their continued dominance at the Arena Garibaldi. Along with mustering 10 points from their last four showdowns in Tuscany, Inzaghi’s side have also suffered just a single Serie B defeat in front of their own supporters over the past 11 months.

As for the visitors, while Carrarese might have only made their Serie B return this season, the Blues have enjoyed a real purple patch. Last seen clinching a 2-0 victory at home against Cesena, Nicolo Antonio Calabro’s side are dreaming of the chance to book a remarkable play-off ticket in 2025. Unbeaten in all of their last five appearances, they will be desperate to get one over on their bitter local rivals on Monday night. However, although Carrarese might have continued to gain a reputation for their defensive steel, the Marbles have struggled to find any kind of stability away from the Stadio del Marmi. Including a 4-1 drumming at the hands of Salernitana on December 1st, Calabro’s men have recorded just a single victory on their travels since way back in May of last year. Losing each of their last two competitive trips to the promotion contenders by an aggregate score of 3-1, we are backing a home victory here.
