Competition: Primera Division
Market: Over 1.5 goals

Hoping to make it back-to-back Primera Division victories in the early hours of Tuesday, Platense will host local rivals Banfield.
Starting with the hosts, managing to make an immediate return to winning ways last week as they signed off July with a stellar 3-1 romp away at Defensa y Justicia, Platense will be desperate to use that performance as a platform to build on. Now winning two of their previous three Primera Division appearances after collecting an eye-catching 2-0 victory away at Central Cordoba, the Marron sit within striking distance of breaking into the top-half. However, mustering just a single clean sheet across any competition over the past month, Sergio Gomez’s men will now be looking to claim a much-welcomed boost on home soil. Last seen at the Estadio Ciudad de Vicente Lopez slumping to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Velez Sarsfield, Tuesday’s hosts have recorded just a sole home victory from any of their last four outings. It should also be noted, Platense have seen all of their previous four Primera Division matchups finish with over 1.5 goals.
As for the visitors, although Banfield might have claimed a crucial 2-0 victory at home against Newells Old Boys on June 5th, it appears that might have just been a minor boost for El Taladro. Last seen putting in a nightmare performance away at Boca Juniors as they slumped to a routine 3-0 drumming, Julio Cesar Falcioni finds his squad scrapping it out at the foot of the Primera Division standings. Including a 2-1 loss against Independiente last month, Tuesday’s guests have secured just a single win from any of their first eight top-flight showdowns. Desperately seeking some defensive resolve, Banfield should also be concerned by a worrying record against their local rivals. Slumping to a 2-0 loss when they welcomed Platense to the Estadio Florencio Sola last season, Falcioni’s side have lost four of their previous five meetings. It should also be noted, the last four meetings between Tuesday’s opponents have produced 13 goals at both ends of the pitch.
