Competition: League One

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 3/10 @ 888sport

Two sides who find themselves battling it out at the top of the League One table, Plymouth will host Ipswich on Sunday lunchtime.

Starting with the hosts, putting in another impressive display earlier in the week while on EFL Trophy duties, Plymouth are in the midst of a stellar run of form. Eventually picking up a 3-1 victory away at Swindon, Steven Schumacher’s men are sat in pole position to clinch a play-off finish this season. Likewise, enjoying a seven-match unbeaten run across all formats, a run that stems all the way back to August 16th, the Pilgrims have also continued to shine on in the final third. On a run that is highlighted by an eye-catching 3-2 win away at Derby earlier in the month, Plymouth have racked up 16 strikes on their seven-match unbeaten run. Looking to lay down what would be a real marker on Sunday lunchtime, Schumacher’s side have also seen all bar one of their previous 13 appearances finish with over 1.5 goals.

As for the visitors, although Ipswich might have endured a downbeat campaign at Portman Road last season, the Blues have really come flying out of the traps this time around. Opening up this weekend’s fixtures sat at the top of the table, Kieran McKenna’s men now have a Championship return at the top of their agenda. Last seen earlier in the week picking up a routine 2-0 victory at home against Arsenal’s U21’s while on EFL Trophy duties, the ex-Manchester United coach has seen his high-flying squad lose just a single contest since opening the 2022/23 campaign. With their stellar run of form underlined by a thumping 6-0 romp against Northampton on August 30th, we could be in for an enjoyable affair here. With Sunday’s guests seeing each of their last seven contests finish with over 1.5 goals, we’re backing a similar outcome.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Plymouth vs Ipswich 3/10 for Sunday’s League One matchup @ 888sport
