Competition: League Two
Market: Swindon draw no bet
Odds: 21/20 @ 888sport
Simply looking to finish off the job and book their spot in this season’s League One play-off final, Swindon will make the trip to Port Vale on Thursday night.
Starting with the hosts, while Port Vale might have eventually pinched themselves another play-off finish this season, they do find themselves in the midst of a worrying blip. Getting hit with a 2-1 first-leg defeat when they made the trip to Swindon last weekend, Darrell Clarke’s men have really failed to find any kind of stability over the past month. Really appearing to have fallen off the boil at a crucial time, the Valiants have now lost four of their last five matchups. Entering May with three straight defeats against Bristol Rovers, Walsall and Newport, the Burslem-based outfit have also shown some extended issues over the past month. Just about dragging themselves over the finish line, it should also be noted that Port Vale have suffered back-to-back losses in front of their own supporters.
As for the visitors, while Port Vale might have just about dragged themselves over the finish line, Swindon are in the midst of what has been a recent purple patch. Putting in an impressive display as they picked up a 2-1 victory at the County Ground last weekend, Ben Garner’s men should find the mood in their camp at a high. In fact, including signing off their regular-season run with a stellar 3-0 romp against Walsall on the road, Swindon have won each of their last five outings on the spin. Winning each of those five League Two matchups by an aggregate score of 12-3, the Robins have really found a clinical edge in the final third. Likewise, winning three of their last four meetings against Thursday’s hosts, including a 3-1 win in Burslem back on January 15th, an away draw no bet can be found at attractive odds here.
